Chester Arthur Bare, about 60, a resident here the last three years, died Saturday at his room in the Mission hotel, 922 Fourth street, after suffering a heart attack.

Theo Richards, clerk at the hotel, said that Mr. Bare died a short time after returning to his room.

Bare, a legless man, traveled, Richards said, on a wheeled platform. He had been moving along a sidewalk in Fourth street, Richards said, a short time before having been stricken.

Dr. James Christiansen, county coroner, was called. He said the man had suffered the attack.

Survivors include a brother, E. F. Bare of Pasadena, Cal.

The W. Harry Christy funeral home in Morningside has charge of arrangements.
