Mrs. Joy Baker, 61, of Correctionville died Sunday in a Sioux City hospital.

Services were held in the Rock Branch United Methodist Church, rural Correctionville, with Rev. John Oren officiating. Burial was in Fairfield Cemetery, Rock Branch, under direction of Walter Funeral Home of Anthon.

The former Joy Lehner, was born November 12, 1924, in Plymouth County where she was raised. She married Howard Baker February 15, 1946, at Anthon. The couple farmed in the Correctionville area. He died July 11, 1984.

Mrs. Baker was a member of Rock Branch United Methodist Church, Good Hope Club, and Harrison F. Pedersen Post 291, American Legion Auxiliary of Pierson. She was a Gold Star Mother.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Michael (Gail) Ploen of Kingsley; three sons, Richard and Kevin both of Correctionville and Charles of Archer; three brothers, Verl and Dale both of LeMars and Delmer of Archer; three sisters, Mrs. Orlo (Keith) Heimstra of Letcher, South Dakota, Mrs. Merril (Hope) Friedrichs of Anthon and Mrs. Maynard (Betty) DeBoer of Archer, and nine grandchildren.
