John Baker died in his home northeast of Moville Thursday following a ten-day illness of pneumonia.

Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the U.B. Church with Rev. S.M. Zike officiating. Burial was in the Rock Branch Cemetery under direction of B.R. Stiles.

John Baker was born in Jackson Co., Iowa, January 8, 1864, and died April 30, 1936, aged 72 years, 3 months and 22 days. At age six years he moved with his parents to Woodbury County. He and Martha Short were married in 1892.

Besides the widow he is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Zelma Byerley, two sons, Lloyd and Harold and three grandchildren, Verlyn Gaylon and Josie May Baker all of Moville, and a brother, Lorenzo, of Anthon, and a sister, Mrs. W.H. Short of Correctionville.
