SERGEANT BLUFF -- WOC Larry J. Baker, 42, of Sergeant Bluff died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 1991, in rural Correctionville, Iowa.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Sergeant Bluff Community United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jan Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery in Rock Branch, Iowa. Visitation will be 3-9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Christy Morningside Funeral Home.

Mr. Baker was born April 16, 1949, in Sioux City, He graduated from Eastwood Community High School in 1967 and Morningside College in 1973 with a BA Degree in business. He was a longtime Sioux City resident and had moved to Sergeant Bluff in 1981. He was a former Younkers store employee and home construction carpenter before becoming a member of the 2nd Mechanized Battalion 133rd Infantry, Iowa Army National Guard. He was a shop chief and a warrant officer candidate.

Mr. Baker was a member of the Sergeant Bluff Community United Methodist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Jennifer Lee Baker and Kari Ann Baker, both of Sergeant Bluff; his mother, Ruby Baker of Sergeant Bluff; a sister, Barbara Alsager of Sergeant Bluff; and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Reifel K. Baker.
