ANTHON, Iowa - John D. Williams, 70, of Ankeny, formerly of Anthon, died Friday, Nov. 11, 1994, at a hospital in Des Moines.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Walter-Armstrong Funeral Home in Anthon with the Rev. Gerald Zensen officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Oto, with military honors conducted by Henry McKenna Post 651, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9124, both of Oto. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a vigil wake service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.

Mr. Williams was born June 9, 1924, in Whitesboro, Texas, the son of Jessie and Anna Marie (Clounch) Williams, He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. On July 1, 1950, he married Dorothy McDonald in Clovis, N.M. The couple lived in the Sioux City and Anthon areas. He worked on road construction in Iowa. Mrs. Williams died Feb. 21, 1981, and he moved to Ankeny in 1984.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, Gene and Fong-Lie of Hubbard, Iowa, and John and Mickey of Radcliffe; two daughters and their husbands, Ginger and Dunne Fiene of Des Moines and Debbie and Joe Evans of Iowa City, and 10 grandchildren.
