June Forney Madsen

HORNICK, Iowa-- June Forney Madsen, 68, of Hornick died Tuesday at her home after a long illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in United Methodist Church in Hornick with the Rev. Gary DeGeest officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery at Holly Springs. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in Wood Funeral Home in Sloan.

Mrs. Madsen, the former June Forney, was born June 9, 1919, at Holly Springs and graduated from Holly Springs High School in 1936. She married Ivan Madsen Feb. 28, 1940, in Sloan. The couple farmed in the Hornick area prior to moving into town in 1980.

Mrs. Madsen was a member of United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women.

Survivors include her husband; four sons, Richard of Seattle, Wash., Larry of Ulysses, Kan., and Robert and Jeff, both of Hornick; her mother, Elizabeth Forney of Whiting; a brother, Charles of Sioux City; four sisters, Mrs. Elmer (Mabel) Schibonski of Denver, Marian Piercy of Whiting, and Evelyn Sexton and Gail Lloyd, both of Hornick, and 11 grandchildren.
