Judy Morley

Sioux City -- Judy Morley, 78, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at a local hospital.

Services will be held 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. with family present from 5 to 7 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. on Thursday, also at the chapel. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Due to the ongoing pandemic, masks and social distancing is required. Online condolences can be expressed at www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Judy was born July 7, 1942, in Sioux City, the daughter of Howard and Doris (Wiggs) Kuehler. After her father passed away at a young age, she was adopted by her step-father, Vincent Carpenter. She grew up and attended school in Onawa, Iowa. Shortly after, she married Benjamin Franklin Martin Sr.; to this union five children were born. On Dec. 27, 1986, she married Dick Morley in Sioux City. Judy earned her Associate’s Degree in Bookkeeping from WITCC while raising her five children. After graduation, she worked as a data processor for the Department of Human Services. She later worked for All Power Inc. for 20 years as a book- keeper.

Judy was a devoted member of The Life Church of Sioux City. She was well loved by her family and friends and had a great sense of humor. She took many trips down to Florida to see her daughter, Cheri. Judy loved roses, poinsettias, and lilies of the valley; she adored her rose bushes when she had them. She was a good cook and a skilled fisherman. She collected Garfield figurines and was fond of cardinals and owls.

She is survived by her husband, Dick Morley of Sioux City; children Cynthia (Juan) Martinez of South Sioux City, Cheri Martin of St. Petersburg, Fla., Randy Martin of Sioux City, Ben (Shellie) Martin of Sioux City, Greg (Diane) Martin of New Freedom, Pa.; step-daughter Molly Morley of Eastland, Texas; grandchildren Alex, Katie, John, Brody, Tyler; step-granddaughters Amber and Sharon; brother Howard (Lisa) Carpenter of Sioux City; sisters Elizabeth (Roger) Wagner of Scribner, Neb., Becky (Larry) Kirkpatrick of Onawa, Carole (Rev. Terry) Gilmore of Sioux City; sister-in-law Beverly Carpenter of Columbus, Ohio; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents, and brother Marshall Carpenter.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed to the family to defray funeral costs.
