Annette ‘Anae’ Twohig

Sioux City -- Annette “Anae” Twohig, 50, passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at UNMC Hospital surrounded by her family.

A private family Memorial Mass will be held with burial in St. John’s Cemetery in Jackson, Neb. Christy-Smith Funeral Homes, Larkin Chapel, is assisting the family with arrangements.

Anae was born on Feb. 22, 1970, in Sioux City. She was the daughter of James “Jim” and Judy (Miller) Twohig and oldest of six children. Anae attended school at Willis Elementary until 8th grade and graduated from Ponca High School in 1988. After graduation, Anae moved to Lincoln, Neb., where she resided at the time of her passing.

Anae enjoyed being outdoors and around horses. She was very environmentally responsible and took recycling very seriously. Along with nature, Anae also liked music and was very artistic. She was also known to sit for hours and work on crossword puzzles. She enjoyed helping others through volunteering. Anae greatly loved her many nieces and nephews.

Anae is survived by her parents, Jim and Judy Twohig of Jackson; siblings, Jim Jr. (Tammy) Twohig of Waterbury, Neb., Amy (Steve) Beierschmitt of Merrill, Iowa, Becky (Jeff) Krueger of Thurston, Neb., Deanna “Dee” (Troy) Foecking of Norfolk, Neb., and Jeff Twohig of Jackson; 23 nieces and nephews; one great-niece; and many other relatives and friends
