Sioux City -- Lois A. Choquette, 96, of Sioux City, passed away surrounded by her family on Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at Sunrise Retirement.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. The funeral will be live streamed on the church website. Online condolences may be made to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Lois was born on Nov. 17, 1924, in Sioux City to Otto and Lena (Winter) Dinkel. She attended Central High School. On July 13, 1946 she was united in marriage to Roland Choquette in Sioux City. He preceded her in death in 1991. Lois was employed as a seamstress at Hovland and Aalfs Manufacturing, retiring in 1987. After retirement she continued to work part time until the plant closed. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church.
She is survived by her children, Roland (Ann) Choquette, Julianne (Jerry) Peterson, Mike (Mary) Choquette, and Barbara Lewis; special friend, Kathy Banys, all of Sioux City; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and her Sunrise family.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings; and son-in-law, Doug Lewis.
