Marshall At Hornick Dies
George W. Heck Passes Away Following a Stroke

George W. Heck, 72, marshal at Hornick for the last 14 years, passed away at his home Thursday following a stroke.

Mr. Heck was born near Woodsfield, O., and lived there until he was 25 years old when he moved to near Hornick. Mr. Heck and his family had lived in and near Hornick all the time since then with the exception of four years they resided in Kansas.

About 14 years ago Mr. Heck retired from farming and moved to Hornick. He had been constable and marshal since that time.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Laura L. Heck of Hornick; four sons, Kenneth and Ross of Homer, Neb., William of South Sioux City and Ray S. Heck of Sioux City and two daughters, Mrs. Harley Van Kirk of Randolph, Neb., and Mrs. John Gallagher, jr., of Hornick. Ray Heck is a deputy sheriff.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p. m. Saturday in the Methodist church at Hornick. Interment will be in the Holly Springs cemetery with the Becker funeral home of Hornick in charge.
