HORNICK, Iowa - Chris Hansen, 85, Hornick, died Sept. 30 at a Sioux City hospital after a brief illness.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Oct. 2 in German City Church near Holly Springs. The Rev. Martin Knudson will officiate. Burial in Willow Township Cemetery will be under direction of the Willman Funeral Home at Rodney.

Mr. Hansen was born March 3, 1891, at Omaha. He married Freda Kohart Feb. 10, 1913, at Omaha.

The Hansens farmed near Hornick for several years.

Mr. Hansen was a member of German City Church.

Survivors include the widow; two sons, Melvin of Phoenix, Ariz., and Darrell of Reno, Nev.; two sisters, Mrs. Walt (Lila Mae) Springer of Farmington, N.M., and Mrs. Joe (Carol Joy) Miller of Costa Mesa, Calif.; four brothers, Carl of Onawa, Alvin of Moville, Harold of Sioux City and Russell of Lacey, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Wesley (Laura) Lundeen of Akron and Mrs. William G. (Florence) McKee of Sioux City; 16 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
