Ethel M. Hall, 89, of Seattle and formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Aug. 27, 1991, at her Seattle residence after a long illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Christy Morningside Funeral Home, with the Rev. Laura Nedeau-Owen of St. Luke Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Willow Township Cemetery, Holly Springs, Iowa. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. to service time Wednesday.

Mrs. Hall, the former Ethel Larson, was born Nov. 21, 1901, in Sarpy County, Neb. She attended Luther College at Wahoo, Neb., Nebraska Wesleyan College at Lincoln, Peru (Neb.) State College and Drake University at Des Moines, Iowa. She married Cedric L. Hall Dec. 31, 1931 in Des Moines. She taught elementary school for 11 years. They lived in the Hornick area from 1932 to 1971. Mr. Hall died Oct. 9, 1971, in Hornick. She lived in Sioux City from 1971 until 1978, and had been a Seattle resident since 1978.

She had been a member of the Hornick United Methodist Church and St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Sioux City.

Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Barbara and James Golding of Waukesha, Wis., and Diana and Martin Swain of Seattle; a son and his wife, Donald and Catherine Hall of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Carl E. Larson, of Sanford, Fla.; four grandchildren, George Golding of Lake Villa, Ill., Jamed C.H. Golding of Clinton, Ill., Jenny Golding of Wisconsin and Laura Hall of Dallas; two nieces, Marilyn Morgan of Seattle and Valoura Kessinger of Omaha, Neb.; five nephews, Vernon Davis of Colin, Neb., Carl Jr., Samuel and Daniel Larson, all of Florida, and Bill Christman of Bronson, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by other brothers and sisters.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
