Mahlon Gore, formerly of Sioux City, and first homesteader in the United States, is dead at Orlando, Fla.

Transcriber’s Note: Find a Grave shows he was born Feb. 4, 1837 and died June 27, 1916. He is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando, FL.
