Carol O. Clift, 40, lifetime resident of Holly Springs, died Friday at an Onawa, Iowa, hospital after a long illness.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the First Church of Christ at Holly Springs. James L. Fisher and Keith Scott, ministers, will officiate. Burial will be in Willow Cemetery near Holly Springs under direction of the Walter Funeral Home, Mapleton, Iowa.

Mr. Clift was born Oct. 29, 1925, at Holly Springs. He married Betty Henry Aug. 28, 1948, at Mapleton.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of the American Legion at Hornick. He was a board member of the Woodbury County Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee for 10 years. He served several years as Willow Township assessor. He was a member of the Hornick Cooperative Elevator board. Mr. Clift was a member of the First Church of Christ at Holly Springs.

Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Denice and Lu Ann Clift, and a son, Michael, all at home; his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Clift of Sloan; and two sisters, Mrs. E. G. Phillips of Morehead City, N. C, and Mrs. James Hilts of Salix.
