Celine C. Homan, 69, of Sioux City died Monday, Dec. 16, 1996, at the Green Acres Nursing Home in South Sioux City following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, with the Rev. Joe Dillinger officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, with the family present from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. and a scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Homan was born April 11, 1927, in Dimock, S.D., the daughter of Otto and Helen (Arnsberg) Kurtenbach. She married Alvin J. "Bud" Homan on Oct. 2, 1950, in Dimock. She was employed as a waitress with Green Gables Restaurant for over 30 years.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, and the Multiple Sclerosis Association.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Danny Sr. and his wife Colleen and Thomas all of Sioux City and John and his wife Lisa of Jacksonville, Ark.; a daughter, Linda Husk of Akron, Iowa; two brothers and their wives, Kenneth and Betty of Chippewa Falls, Wis. and Peter and Eleanor of Budd Lake, N.J.; three sisters and their husbands, Helen and Don Steilen of Muskegon, Mich., Germaine and Donn Wilmott Sr. of Oceanside, Calif, and Ramona "Monie" and Vic Blair of Sioux City; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Don; and a sister, Evelyn Hecker.
