Stephen W. Pederson entered into his rest, Friday, Jan. 22, 2021.

Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1013 River Drive, North Sioux City. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Lunch and burial will follow the service.

Stephen was born Jan. 27, 1940, and baptized into God's grace shortly thereafter. Steve was married to his beloved wife Janice on Nov. 22, 1967. They were blessed in marriage for 53 years, having three children, and ten grandchildren.

Steve was a gifted teacher in the public school system of the Sioux City area, 1962-1979. He later became a principle and teacher at Dakota Lutheran School beginning in 1978 (North Sioux City). Steve and Janice moved to retire in Pleasant Hill Missouri in 2004, living in the area for several years, near many of their grandchildren.

Steve was a lifelong confessional Lutheran, his favorite verse Ephesians 2:8-9, in the fellowship of the Lutheran Churches of the Reformation (LCR) from 1964 to present day. His Savior called him to life everlasting while he was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Corcoran, Minn.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Janice; three children, Tobin (and Anna) Pederson, Amanda (and Paul Hunter), and Nathan (and Christine) Pederson; and ten grandchildren, Alicia, James, Jesse, Levi, Roman, Lukas, Christal, Johnpaul (Hunter), Talitha Pederson, and Olivia Pederson; his brother Herb Pederson; and sister Dorcas Balcer.

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Tobias and Gertrude Pederson; brothers, Paul and Ted Pederson; brother-in-law Melburne and sister Connie Johnson.
