Arthur P. Werkmeister

Arthur Paul Werkmeister, 82, of Sioux City died Friday, Dec. 6, 1996, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Armour, S.D. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at the Clements-Wiese Funeral Home in Armour.

Mr. Werkmeister was born Feb. 4, 1914, near Armour, the son of Adam and Lizzie (Meister) Werkmeister. He grew up and attended school in Douglas County, S.D. He farmed for a few years, then moved to Wall Lake, Iowa in 1938, where he owned and operated a TV and appliance business. He retired in 1985, and moved to Sioux City.

Mr. Werkmeister was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

Survivors include three brothers and their wives, Elmer and Ileen, LeRoy and Verna and Leonard and Sylvia all of Armour; two sisters, Gladys Heidner of Parkston, S.D. and Elsie and her husband Henry Kietzmann of Armour; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
