Irene Lindgren

Irene R. Lindren, 101, of Sioux City died Thursday, Dec. 12, 1996 at her residence.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. Marvin J. Boes officiating. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with a scriptural wake service at 7:30 p.m., and the family present from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Lindgren was born March 22, 1895 in Alvord, Iowa, to Christopher and Eva Marie (Kohl) Lauer. She married Felix A. Lindgren on April 28, 1922 in Omaha, Neb. He died April 3, 1971 in Sioux City.

She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Virginia Brechtel of Westminster, Calif., Lucille Smick of Sioux City, and Jean Lytle of Huntington Beach, Calif.; one sister, Gen Kruse of Pierre S.D.; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one brother; six sisters; and a grandson.

Pallbearers include Eugene Smick and Dennis Smick, Hank Saunders, Darrel Greenough, Greg Drees, and David Hall.
