Donald L'Don' Puttman

SIOUX CITY-Donald L. "Don" Puttman, 62, of Sioux City passed away on May 2, 2009, at his residence.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Nelson- Berger Northside Chapel, with the Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.meyerbroschapels .com.

Don was born to Randy and LaNelle (Hooks) Puttmann on Aug. 15, 1946, in Sioux City. He graduated from Leeds High School and attended two years of junior college. He served his country in the 185th Air National Guard. During the Vietnam War, he was stationed in Clovis.N.M.

Don was married to Karla Marker on Nov. 2, 1980, in Elk Point, S.D. He was a machinist for Sioux Tools for 30 years.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Don was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed playing golf, watching the Cubs play baseball and the Bears play football. He also enjoyed crossword puzzles and playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Karla Puttman of Sioux City; a son, Ryan (Cindy) Puttman of Dakota Dunes, S.D.; a daughter, Tara Puttman of Sioux City; two grandchildren, Shay and Maxx Puttman; and a sister, Randi Lynn (Randy) Cooper of Sioux City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, LaNette Wright.
