SIOUX CITY - Evangeline Satterly, 79, of Sioux City passed away Sunday, July 5, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Boniface Catholic Church, with the Rev. James Brach officiating. Burial will be in Calvary A Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a rosary/prayer service at 7 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Evangeline was born Jan. 30, 1930, in Sioux City, to Edward and Ida (Picard) Laverdure. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Sioux City.

She was married to Charles Satterly on Sept. 9, 1950, at St. Boniface Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in March 2004. She cleaned for several businesses, ending at the Davidson Building from which she retired.

She loved when her grandchildren would come to visit. She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, where she was a past member of the Altar Society.

She is survived by her son, James Satterly of Jefferson, S.D.; two grandchildren, Janelle and Garret; and two sisters, Roseanna Ash of Sioux City and Marcelene Myers of Allen, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a daughter, Janet; two brothers, Joseph and Francis; and a sister, Evelyn.
