She married her high school sweetheart, Arden C. Walker, on Nov. 4, 1939, in Angola, Ind. After almost 70 years of marriage, her eyes still twinkled like a school girl whenever Arden told stories of their courting days. She enjoyed fishing, boating, gardening, traveling, crocheting, baking, holidays, antiquing, listening to Perry Como, playing the piano, writing letters and visiting with friends and family. As a young woman, she was an active member of Alexis Congregational Church in Toledo, where she sang duets with her sister. Since moving to Hartwell in 1982, the couple worshipped at Reed Creek Baptist Church and she was a member of the Golden Agers. She also was a 50 -year plus member of the Order of the Eastern Star Nancy Hart Chapter. Her faith, strong sense of duty, devotion to family and habits of daily good deeds made her an inspiration to many.

She will be deeply missed by her husband; a son, Ron Walker of Hartwell; daughter, Ruth and her husband, Clyde Evans' of Muscatine, Iowa; a son, John Walker and his wife, Kathy of Ormond Beach, Fla.; a son, David Walker and his wife, Cherry of Talbott, Tenn.; grandchildren, Jeffry Evans, Barbara Townsend, Alan Evans, Jennifer Reiland, Laura Evans, Christine Barge, Neil Walker, Summer Rennick, Brandi Smith, Michael Walker, Bryan Walker and Adra Moore; great-grandchildren, Elle, Olivia, Noah, Landon, Mya, Reagan, Ryan, Christian, Ella, Mycah, Seth, Jamie, Tanner, Abby, Ali Jean, Sidney, Beckett and Brandon; and many nieces and nephews.
