Grace M. Cole

SIOUX CITY - Grace M. Cole, 74, of Sioux City died Saturday, April 25, 2009, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center after a long illness.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.

Grace was born July 24, 1934, in Durham, N.C., the daughter of Thomas A. and Eula M. (Taylor) Clayton. She married Bernard W. Cole on May 5, 1954 in Mebane, N.C. She worked at Roses 5 and 10 Cent Store in North Carolina. In 1959 she came to Sioux City and worked at Katz Drug Store for three years.

She enjoyed plastic canvas knitting and watching NASCAR.

Grace is survived by four sons, Allen and his wife, Cathy of Ankeny, Iowa, Alton of Sioux City, Anthony of Shreveport, La., and Andrew of Sioux City; seven grandchildren, Drew, Alex, Zach, Stacy, Derick, Joey and Kayla; two greatgrandchildren, Ava and Bree; two brothers, Jimmy of North Carolina, and Buddy of Maryland; and two sisters, JoAnn of South Carolina and Linda of North Carolina.
