SOUTH SIOUX CITY (Died Sioux City) -Lillian L. Bossow, 89, of South Sioux City passed away Thursday, April 23, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church in Sioux City, with the Rev. Anthony Allard officiating. Burial will be in Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Lillian was born Feb. 7, 1920, in Decatur, Neb., the daughter of Henry C. and Madge B. (Halstead) Roberts. She graduated from South Sioux City High School in 1938.

She married Raymond F.C. Bossow on Feb. 9, 1941, in Pender, Neb. Mr. Bossow passed away Nov. 19, 1965, in Sioux City.

She was employed at the South Sioux City Star, Nu Way Drug Store, J.C. Penney's, Palmer Candy Company and retired from General Growth Corporation.

She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aid and church choir. She also was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary in South Sioux City and a past member of the Chamberettes. She was a member of the Dakota County Historical Society, Centennial committee, South Sioux City Alumni Association, the American Business Women Association, Treble Cleff Chorus and served on the South Sioux City Housing Authority.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Bossow of Sioux City and Rick Bossow and his wife, Glenda of Spencer, Iowa; two daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Warren Backer of Farmington, Minn., and Cindy and Mike Manley of Grand Island, Neb.; two brothers, Henry "Pete" Roberts of Arlington, Texas, and Cheryl "Pudge" Roberts of Pender, Neb.; a sister, Monetta Williamson of Monmouth, Ore.; 22 grandchildren; and 24 greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Raymond; a son, Rodney; three daughters, Judy Hansen, Linda Lockwood and Valetta Cass; and a sister, LaVerle.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandsons Paul, Matt, Carsten and Aaron Bossow, Fred and Kelly Finley, Ted Bromander, David Backer and Kyle Manley.
