PLAN RITES FOR DROWNED YOUTH

Services Saturday for ; William De Raad, River Victim.

Funeral services for William De Raad, 7-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. De Raad, 207 South Iowa street, whose body, was found Thursday afternoon in the Missouri river, probably. will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Wall Street mission, Rev. J. P. Hantla officiating, relatives announced. Interment will be in Floyd cemetery.

The De Raad boy was drowned April 25, when he fell into the river from a piling, at the foot of Court street. In reaching for his cap, which blew into the river, the lad slipped into the waters himself. The accident was witnessed by only one boy companion, who ran away, frightened. Efforts by the police to recover the body by diving and the use of dynamite proved unsuccessful and its whereabouts remained unknown until the river cast up its victim Thursday.

The body was seen lying in a pile of driftwood near the Floyd monument by a switching crew on the Chicago, St. Paul, Minneapolis and Omaha railroad. The enginemen immediately left the locomotive and brought the body to shore.

Despite the length of time it was in the water, relatives of the dead boy stated that the body was almost perfectly preserved.

Westcott's undertaking establishment is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
