SIOUX CITY -- Robert H. Reifenrath, of Upland, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, passed away April 13, 2009, at his residence.

A celebration of life services was held April 18 at The Carngie Library in Upland.

Robert was born in Yankton on Sept. 23, 1939, to Bernard and Elizabeth Reifenrath. He married Barbara Brunick in Vermillion, S.D., on Sept. 5, 1959. The couple lived in Sioux City until moving to Upland in 1964. He worked as a journeyman glazier until 14 years ago, when he took early retirement from his union. In the last 14 years, he was a driver, dispatcher and manager for National Leasing and Brokerage.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Barbara; three children, Teresa of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Robert Jr. of Upland and Peter and his wife, Staci of Pinon Hills, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Michael Jr. of Ventura, Calf., Matthew of Rialto, Calif., Brandi of San Bernardino, Calif., Courtney and Victoria of Pinon Hills, Brian and Scott of Upland; three great-grandchildren, Irene and Damien Jr. who live with their father, Damien of Mead Valley, Calif., and Jakob Riley who lives with his father, Michael Jr. and mother, April of Ventura; sisters, Barbara of Vermillion, Dorothy of Corvalis, Ore., Lorraine of Vancouver, Wash., and Linda of Sioux City; and two brothers, Melvin and Kenneth of Sioux City.

Robert and the family request that donation be made to the American Cancer Society in his name.
