SIOUX CITY -- Quinndell H. Olson-Hendrix, 90, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Meyer Brothers Morningside Chapel, with the Rev. John Woodford officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, with the family present 4 to 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 5 p.m., at the funeral home. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Quinndell was born July 2, 1918, to Harry and Meta K. (Jorgensen) Ebbesen in Viborg, S.D.

She was married to F. Harlan Olson in 1938, in Vermillion, S.D., where they lived until 1949. They owned and operated the Bronson (Iowa) Feed and Hardware together until Harlan's death in 1990. She kept the store until 1992.

She married John Hendrix in 1992 and they enjoyed 17 years of married life.

She enjoyed singing and whistling tunes to the bands that played at the Senior Center. She was involved with the drama group and choir at the Senior Center. She was a long time member of the Bronson Community Presbyterian Church and most recently the Good News Baptist Church. She also spent her time volunteering at the Rebecca Lodge, League of Women Voters, PTA and the Siouxland Senior Center, hosting dances with her husband, John, for 14 years.

She is survived by her husband, John Hendrix of Sioux City; a daughter, Rosemary (Jack) Carr of Buffalo, Wyo.; a son, Fred H. (Elizabeth Brackett, M.D.) Olson III of Minneapolis; a son, Richard (Carol Watson) Olson of Minneapolis; stepdaughters, Rosie (Bob) McNertney of Sioux City and Susie (Jeff Prichard) O'Kane of La Vista, Neb.; stepsons, Jim (Cindy) O'Kane of Sioux City, John O'Kane of San Pedro, Calif., and John S. Hendrix of San Diego, Calif.; five grandchildren; eight step-grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
