ALLEN, Neb. (Died Sioux City)-- Ronald D. Bicknell, 75, of Allen passed away on Friday, April 3, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 6:30 p.m. Monday at Mohr Funeral Home, 1000 W. 29th Street, South Sioux City, with Pastor Sara Simmons officiating. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be 4:30 p.m. until time of the service Monday at the funeral home. Ronald was born to Charles and Ruby (Lampman) Bicknell in Sioux City on June 8, 1933. He married Bernetta Macklem on Jan. 10, 1953. He worked as a sheet metal worker in California for a number of years and was a member of the Southern California Sheet Metal Workers Union. After he retired in 1991, the couple moved to Sioux City before moving to Allen, Neb. in 1996.

He enjoyed playing marbles, camping and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Bernetta of Allen; a daughter, Tonie and her husband, Stan Procter of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two sons, Darwin Bicknell of Cypress, Calif., and John and his wife, Marjorie Bicknell of Allen, Neb.; 11 grandchildren; four and one-half great-grandchildren; a brother, Russell Bicknell of San Diego, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and seven siblings.
