NORTH SIOUX CITY -- Constance L. McMullen, 78, of North Sioux City died Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at her sister's residence surrounded by her family and friends.

A celebration of her life with family and friends will begin at 3 p.m. Saturday at Dakota Rose Casino in North Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of Berkemier Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home.

Constance was born March 18, 1931, in Sioux City, the daughter of Freeman L. and Beth D. (Bush) Cobb. She lived in the Sioux City area all of her life.

On June 4, 1960, she married Richard G. McMullen in South Dakota. He died Nov. 10, 2002, in Sioux City. She had worked at the Palmer House, Holiday Inn, Milwaukee Wiener House and most recently at the Dakota Rose Casino.

She loved to go to Adventureland in Kansas City to play bingo. She enjoyed going to the Whistle Stop Casino to visit with her girl friends and to gamble. What she loved most was spending time with family and friends. She was known for her love of life.

She is survived by her son and his wife, Shane McMullen and Amy Spencer-McMullen; four brothers; and six sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and two sisters.
