SIOUX CITY -- Mary C. (Lacugnato) Reisdorph, 86, of Sioux City went home to Jesus her Savior Sunday, Feb. 22, 2009. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be missed.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Episcopal Church, 1308 S. Cleveland St., Sioux City. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Saturday at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.

Mary was born in Sioux City on March 22, 1923. She attended school here and graduated from the original Central High School (Castle on the Hill) in 1941. She worked for the Sioux City Public Library until World War II began. She then moved to Omaha, where she was employed and proudly worked at the Glenn L. Martin Company that built the B-26 Marauder bombers for the war effort. She later moved back to Sioux City, where she worked at the Armour Meat Packing Plant.

She met and married Roger Reisdorph on Christmas Day 1945 and they started a family.

She became a dedicated wife and nurturing and dedicated mother. She was a very talented artist and seamstress. Using those talents, she created very elaborate theme quilts for each of her grandchildren and others while still able. She loved photography and chronicled many vacations and family events. She always lent a sympathetic ear to all who cared to confide in her. She never showed a selfish side, but instead was quite content being there for others, especially her children. Survivors include her sons, Tom (Sue), Mike (Susan) and Mark (Doc) Reisdorph; a daughter, Barbara (Parcells); grandchildren, Amy, Ryan, Scott, Sara, Andy, Stacey, Mark, Ashlee and Matilda; and great-grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, Isaac and Abby.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger.

The family would like to thank the staff at both Northridge Care Center and Hospice of the Twin Cities.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice of the Twin Cities, 10405 Sixth Avenue N., Suite 250, Plymouth, MN. 55441 or the Northridge Care Center, 5430 Boone Avenue N., New Hope, MN. 55429.
