24 February 2009DAKOTA DUNES, S.D. (Buried Sioux City)-- Betty L Burmester, 83, of Dakota Dunes passed away Saturday, Feb. 21, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital.
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Merrill Muller officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Betty was born Oct. 8, 1925, in Sioux City, the daughter of Clifford and Nina (Coulson) Olson.
She married Merle Burmester on March 11, 1978, in Spirit Lake, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Oct. 22, 2004.
Survivors include two brothers, H.T. (Jane) Olson of Minneapolis and Gary (Sandy) Olson of Detroit,. Mich.; a sister, Nina Dufrane; a stepsisters, Mary Ellen Olson; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Clifford J. "Sam" Olson and James Olson; and a sister, Mary Ellen Gavenhausen.
Honorary pallbearers will be John Olson, Tom Olson, David Olson, Steven Olson, Blake Schuman and Brock Schuman.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
