SIOUX CITY -- Marjorie Jeanne Potts, 92, of Hudson, Wis., formerly of Sioux City, was born to eternal life at Christian Community Home in Hudson.

Memorial services will be held in April 2009. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City. Arrangements are under the direction of O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson. Condolences may be sent online to www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com.

Jeanne was born to life Sept. 7, 1916, in Sioux City, the daughter of Finley and Marjorie (Thorpe) Crockett. She attended Longfellow Elementary School prior to graduating from East High School.

On March 5, 1938, she was united in marriage to Doyle Edward Potts at her parents' home in Sioux City. This union was blessed with three sons although this union later dissolved. Over the years, she worked as a secretary for Younkers-Davidson Department Store for their invoice operations and later in sales.

She was a lady of class, dignity and high moral ground, who led by example of how to live a Christian life. She enjoyed many church and social activities with friends. She was always interested in a good game of bridge and was a devout Minnesota Twins fan. She loved flower gardening and took great pleasure from the beauty and fragrance of a spring flower.

She is survived by her sons, James (Joan) Potts of Hudson, Wis., and Dennis (Donna) Potts of South Pasadena, Calif.; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Jim Crockett; her parents, Finley and Marjorie Crockett; and a son, Thomas Potts.
