13 February 2009SIOUX CITY -- Opal Rosella Buchanan, 81, of Sioux City passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2009.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Nelson-Berger Northside Chapel, with the Revs. Lloyd Grant of Central Baptist Church and Don Craig officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m., at the funeral home.
Opal was born Jan. 31, 1928, in Sioux City, to Sidney and Mabel Skidmore. She married Glen Buchanan on Oct. 4, 1947.
Survivors include a son and his wife, Robert and Deborah of Citrus Heights, Calif.; grandchildren, Brent Buchanan and his wife, Meghan of Folsom, Calif., Heather Buchanan of Los Gatos, Calif., and Haley Buchanan of Citrus Heights, Calif.; a great-granddaughter, Lillian Buchanan of Folsom, Calif.; brothers and their wives, Howard and Doris Skidmore of Dakota Dunes, S.D., and Harold and Phyllis Skidmore of Fair Oaks, Calif.; a sister and her husband, Shirley and Alvin Holly of Lodi, Calif.; a sister-in-law, Mary Skidmore of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; and siblings, Ruby Casey and Sidney Skidmore.
Pallbearers will be Brent Buchanan, Timothy Casey and David Lethcoe.
