SIOUX CITY -- Kathryn Jane (Jewell) Beckner, 51, of Sioux City went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. today at New Hope Wesleyan Church, with the Rev. Mark Jenkins officiating. Burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Kathryn was born Sept. 28, 1957, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Earle B. and Elizabeth (Mumford) Jewell.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, whom she married on March 27, 1998; a son, Gerald Crotten of Sioux Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Barbara Crotten and Nancy Crotten, both of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and a sister, Mary J. Jewell of Kansas City, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Earle B. Jewell.
