August 1998Thomas John Mehess, 76, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, August 11, 1998 in Farmington Hills following a brief illness.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Larkin Funeral Home in Omaha, Nebraska with the Rev. Dusenovich of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Omaha. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Mehess was born May 29, 1922, the son of John and Bessie Mehess. He was a long time Sioux City resident. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in World War II.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Cathy and Tom Ryder of Farmington Hills; two sisters, Mary Glarum and Annette and her husband, Vernon Prewitt; a brother and his wife, George and Lila Mehess and three grandchildren, Ben, Abby and Libby.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardith; two brothers, Gus and Art and his parents.
