Myron Henry Peers, 73, of Sioux City died Tuesday, May 16, 2000, at his residence.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery with Mike Inman, chaplain at Hospice of Siouxland officiating. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.

Mr. Peers was born February 6, 1927, in Sioux City, the son of William H. and Electa (Wilbur) Peers. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He married Mary H. Grant on October 10, 1952 in Elk Point, South Dakota. He was employed with Farmer Cooperative and then with VanTuyl Construction. He was then employed as a truck driver with Corn Belt Supply Inc. for 26 years. He retired in March 1984.

Survivors include his wife, a son and his wife, Myron B. Jr. and Lori of South Sioux City; a daughter and her husband, Judy and Dan Tagstrom of McCook Lake, South Dakota; five grandchildren, Melissa, Mandy, Matthew and Brandon Peers and Jeremy Tagstrom and a great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Peers and an infant son, Marion Blake Peers.
