Mrs. George Beaulieu

Mrs. George (LaVerne) Beaulieu, 88, of St. Joseph, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, died Wednesday evening at a hospital in St. Joseph following a brief illness.

Services will be at 8 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in St. Joseph. The rosary will be said at 7:30 p.m. today in the Meierhoffer-Fleeman Funeral Home in St. Joseph. Graveside services will be in Graceland Park Memorial Cemetery in Sioux City at 1 p.m. Monday.

Mrs. Beaulieu, the former LaVerne Krollman, was born May 25, 1895 in Sioux City where she resided most of her life.

She married George Beaulieu on Jan. 17, 1925, at Merrill, Iowa. The couple made their home on a farm near Merrill, until they retired and moved to Sioux City. Mr. Beaulieu died Nov. 3, 1963, in Sioux City.

She moved to St. Joseph, Mo., in June of 1981.

She was a former member of Cathedral of Epiphany, and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.

As a pianist she participated in various musical organizations throughout her life, and remained active until 1979. She sold and demonstrated sheet music in Sioux City department stores before the advent of disc jockeys.

Survivors include a son Donald K. of St. Joseph; a step-daughter Gladys of Sioux City; a foster son Gerald Mayo of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and four step-grandchildren.
