Terry Lynn Theobald, 63, of Smithland, Iowa, passed away on August 8, 2019 at Burgess Health Center, Onawa Iowa following a courageous battle with stage 4 lung cancer.

A memorial service will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at the Smithland United Methodist Church in Smithland, Iowa with Pastor Karen Handke, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Rush Family Care Service, Onawa, Iowa.

Terry was born on June 12, 1956 in Denison, Iowa the daughter of Herbert and Vernetta “Nettie” (Sasges) Theobald.

Terry graduated from Maple Valley High School in Mapleton, Iowa with the class of 1974. After graduation, Terry worked as an aide at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa. Terry furthered her education at Western Iowa Tech Community College where she graduated with a Surgical Technologist Degree in 1986. She worked at Burgess Health Center in Onawa, Iowa for approximately 20 years and then she worked for Mercy Hospital in Sioux City for 10 years, and then back to Burgess Health Center where she retired due to her illness.

She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Terry loved to go clearance shopping, baking, and was always taking care of everyone else. Her love for her family is a treasure they will always keep in their hearts.

Survivors include her children, Jeremy (Sara) Theobald of Onawa, Iowa, Jessica (Sonny) Teet of Castana, Iowa, Joelle (Jeremy) Stroh of Sioux City, Iowa, and Jalisa (Fiancé Steven Lewis) Theobald of Sioux City, Iowa; grandchildren, Gabriele Teet, Ethan Ronfeldt, Abbagail Ronfeldt, Madison Carson, Xander Wulf, Kaylynn Stroh, Karina Stroh, Bradley Stroh, and Evelynn Lewis; brother Butch (Vicki) Theobald of Des Moines, Iowa; three sisters, Dolly (Gary) Kragel of Sloan, Iowa, Myra (Tom) Sattler of Herndon, KS, Karla (Mark) Struble of Hornick, IA; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Burow and CeCe Burow both of Anthon, Iowa; and one brother-in-law, Tom McCoy of Sioux Falls, SD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert and Vernetta “Nettie” Theobald; her significant other, Carl Burow; one infant brother, Michael Theobald; one sister, Renea McCoy; and parents-in-law, Doris and George Burow.
