26 March 1997V. Ray Griencewic, 56, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, March 25, 1997 of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral Mass service will be at 10:30 a.m. today at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Omaha, with the Rev. Paul J. Schwaab officiating. Burial will be Thursday in Resurrection Cemetery. A scriptural rosary service will be at 6:30 p.m. today and a prayer service will be at 9 a.m. Thursday, all at the church. Heafey-Hoffman-Dworak-Culter Westcenter Funeral Home in Omaha is in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Griencewic was born in Sioux City. He graduated from Heelan Catholic High School in 1960.
He was employed at Swift and Company for seven years.
He married Jean on August 19, 1961.
The couple moved to Omaha in 1968, where he was employed at AT&T of Omaha for 28 years.
Survivors include his wife; three sons ad their wives, Rick and Christine of McCook Lake, South Dakota and Kevin and Beth and Dennis and Carol all of Omaha; a daughter and her husband, Michele and David Finney of Omaha; nine grandchildren; his mother and her husband, Gerry and Bob Mathews of Bella Vista, Arkansas and a brother and his wife, William L. and Judy of Sioux City.
Memorials may be given to the V. Ray Griencewic Memorial Fund at the Bell Federal Credit Union in Omaha.
