Deanna L. "Dee" Davis, daughter of Clint and Betty (Jensen) Paulsen, was born December 24, 1955 in Harlan, Iowa. She passed away on Friday, June 26, 2009 at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab in Sioux City, Iowa at the age of 53.

Deanna was raised in Atlantic, Iowa and attended school there. She graduated from Atlantic High School with the Class of 1975. Following high school, Deanna attended Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs for one year.

On November 14, 1985, Deanna was united in marriage to Leonard A. Davis in Atlantic. To this union two sons were born: James and Edward. Dee and Lennie lived in Atlantic then moved to Harlan and later to Onawa, Iowa.

While in Onawa, she began volunteering at Headstart then worked as an assistant cook at Burgess Health Center.

Dee enjoyed being on the computer and the internet, watching birds, and caring for her cats. While she was at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab she found comfort in the hospice dog, Luke.

Dee was preceded in death by her father; grandparents: Nels and Kathrine Jensen and Eldon and Mrytle Paulsen.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard A. "Lennie" of Onawa; two sons: James and Edward both of Onawa; her mother, Betty Paulsen of Atlantic; one sister, Debra Williams and husband Gary of Atlantic; two brothers: Dwayne Paulsen and wife Phyllis of Emerson, IA and Dallas Paulsen and wife Lori of Atlantic; mother-in-law, Maureen Wilcke of Onawa; three sisters-in-law: Judy Stroman and husband Duane of Sioux City, IA, Debora McNeese and friend Monty Fansler of Harlan, and Roseann Davis and husband Rickie P. Kunzman of Knoxville, IA; three aunts: Elsie Baker of Council Bluffs, Frances Jensen of Harlan and Marlys Martens and husband Chuck of Walnut; two uncles: Robert Jensen of Tennant, IA and Howard Kjeldgaard and Mary of Omaha, NE nieces; nephews; grand nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

A memorial service for Deanna will be Thursday, July 9, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:00 p.m. that evening and following the memorial service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Deanna L. Davis Memorial Fund. Pearson Funeral Home in Onawa is providing professional service
