4 March 2009Lee Scott, age 88, of Correctionville, passed away on Wednesday, February. 25, 2009 at the Correctionville Nursing and Rehab Center of Correctionville.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Christ of Correctionville with Pastor Andrew Younker officiating. Mark Jenkins served as soloist.
Honorary pallbearers were Sam Jenkins, Jim Peters, Lawrence Miller and the Cushing Cemetery of Cushing with military rites conducted by VFW Post #1750 and American Legion Mumford Moon Post #79 Correctionville, Iowa, all under the direction of The Nicklas D. Jensen Funeral Home of Correctionville.
Lee was born to Oscar and Lucy Scott on August 7, 1920 on a farm south of Cushing. He was a member of the U.S. Army from 1942 – 1945. On January 5, 1948 he married Helen E. Kroll.
To this union two children were born, Sheryle and Ronald.
Lee enjoyed dancing to country music, being with friends and family, spending time with grandchildren and traveling to Montana.
Survivors include his children, Sheryle Jenkins of Washta and Ronald Lee Scott of Prescott, Arizona: grandchildren Audra Jenkins of Washta and Samantha Jenkins of Washta and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Lucy Scott; his wife Helen E. Scott in November of 2001; a brother Luverne Scott and sisters Florence, Francis and Mildred.
