Speeding into Sioux City With Injured Man, Engine Hits a Peddler.
While speeding into Sioux City with Andrew Peters, who was probably fatally injured at Elk Point, the Milwaukee passenger train No. 32 struck and instantly killed Israel Alperowitz, a peddler, while he was driving across the track in the western part of the city.
The train was running at speed limit under the city ordinance and Alperowitz was thrown sixty feet, and when the trainmen reached him he was dead. The horse was rolled from the track by the train and was injured so that it had to be shot.
