19 October 2008SIOUX CITY -- Lenore M. Patnaud Dillavou, 95, of Sioux City passed away Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Michael Catholic Church, with the Rev. Gary Snyder officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 4 p.m. rosary recited by Catholic Daughters of the Americas and the Carmel Guild, and a 7 p.m. vigil service, at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel. Condolences may be sent online to www.meyerbroschapels.com.
Lenore was born Aug. 3, 1913, in rural Woodbury County, Iowa, the daughter of John and Margaret (Wise) Muir.
She married August "Gus" Patnaud on June 23, 1934, in Sioux City. He died Sept. 19, 1971, in Sioux City. She later married Eugene "Beans" Dillavou on July 10, 1981, in Sioux City. He died Aug. 30, 1988, in Sioux City. Lenore retired from Northwestern Bell in 1976, after 31 years of service.
She was a former member of St. Boniface Catholic Church, a current member of St. Michael Catholic Church and a longtime member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was also an honorary member of the Carmel Board. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers. Lenore volunteered for 17 years at the Bargain Center. In earlier years, she was a member of the Sun Valley Wednesday Golf Club.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Suzanne and Russell Greenlee of Alta Loma, Calif., and Kathleene and Mark Kaiser of Omaha; a daughter-in-law, Carol Patnaud of Sioux City; a brother and his wife, Joe and Vicki Muir of Port Orchard, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Gus and Beans; a son, Robert Patnaud; three grandchildren, Julie Johnsen, Michael Patnaud and William Greenlee; three brothers; and four sisters.
Memorials may be made in her name to Hospice of Siouxland, the Carmels or to the Catholic Daughters' Scholarship Fund.
