28 October 2008SALIX, Iowa -- James Jude Patterson, 66, formerly of Salix died Monday, Oct. 27, 2008, at Creighton University Hospital in Omaha following a lengthy illness.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, with the Rev. Patrick O'Kane officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, with a Legion of Mary rosary at 7 p.m. and a vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at the church.
James was born April 29, 1942, to Ouida (Brouillette) and the late Clarence Patterson. He spent the majority of his life, since age 5, at the Glenwood Resource Center in Glenwood, Iowa, and had many friends (like family) there.
Survivors include his mother, Ouida Patterson of Salix; two brothers and their wives, Mike and Linda of Sloan, Iowa, and John and Jackie of Dakota City; three sisters, Pauline Schmitz of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jeanette Chicoine of Hornick, Iowa, and Theresa and her husband, Lee Girard of Sergeant Bluff; and an uncle, aunts, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Patterson; and two younger brothers, David and Phillip.
