SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Thomas Nolan Daugherty, 53, of South Sioux City died unexpectedly Monday, May 19, 2008, at his residence from natural causes.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Al Weiss of First Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present at 6 p.m., at the funeral home.

Thomas was born Sept. 21, 1954, in Sioux City, the son of Charles E. and Sue C. (Hedger) Daugherty. He graduated from West High School.

He married Terri L. Berry in August 1975 in Sioux City. He was employed at Sioux City Foundry until poor health forced his retirement.

He enjoyed playing cards, particularly Texas Hold-em.

Survivors include a son and his wife, Justin and Krista of Rifle, Colo.; a daughter, Jaime Daugherty of Rifle, Colo.; two brothers and their wives, Edward and Jerri of South Sioux City and Tim and Kim of Sioux City; three sisters and their husbands, Anita and Stanley Thorson and Linda and Gerry Carver, all of Sioux City and Vicky and Tom Freeman of Hinton, Iowa; and two grandchildren, Trevor and Kaydan.

Pallbearers will be Brandon, Patrick and Cody Daugherty, Adam Beckwith, Chad Carver and Kenard Medlin.
