28 October 2008SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Antonio C. Medina, 80, of South Sioux City passed away Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008, at a South Sioux City care center.
Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home, with the Rev. Kevin Roach officiating. Following the service Wednesday, the body will be cremated. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Friday in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Antonio was born Aug. 15, 1928, in Sioux City, the son of John and Opal (Barnes) Medina. He worked for and retired from IBP.
He liked fishing, drinking cold beverages, gardening, and camping. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren who were his greatest treasures.
Survivors include six sons, Antonio Medina and his companion, Deb Oberreuter, Kerry and his companion, Cyndi Obbink, Ron and his wife, Tracy Medina, Rick and his wife, Lorretta Medina, Dallas Longwell and his companion, Toni Carpenter and Lance Longwell, all of Sioux City; seven daughters, Lola and her husband, Art Reynolds of Bloomfield, Neb., Violet Medina-Dietz and her companion, Paul Cook, Carmen Medina, Marcella VanWaart and her companion, Greg Braunger, Lisa and her husband, Theodore Harris, Katie Medina and her companion, Jay Nelson and Jennifer Longwell and her companion, Adam Frigge, all of Sioux City; a sister, Juanita Detches of Sioux City; 36 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son; two daughters; a brother; and a sister.
