15 May 2008ELK POINT, S.D. -- Norriene Adelia Bergum, 76, of Sergeant Bluff, formerly of Elk Point, died Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Elk Point, with the Rev. Jared Rakness officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday at the church.

Mrs. Bergum was born Oct. 20, 1931, in Elk Point, the daughter of Howard and Ida (Strand) Rosenbaum. She attended school until the 11th grade.
She married Howard Bergum in 1978. He died April 5, 2008. She was a homemaker.
She devoted her life to her family. She was a very fun loving person and never met a stranger. She always had a smile on her face and kind words to share with others. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Glenda (Michael) Shook of Sergeant Bluff; sons, Dorian Horton and Darwin (Helen) Horton, both of Sioux City; sisters and brothers, LaVonne (Amos) Benson of Vermillion, S.D., Corriene (Cecil) Horton of Akron, Iowa, Virginia (Leroy) Sundleaf of Elk Point, Ruth Wirkus of Linn Grove, Iowa, Darlene (Dick) Harrison of Sioux City, Russell (Janet) Rosenbaum of Elk Point and Randy (Norma) Rosenbaum of Elk Point; a brother-in-law, Marvin Simon of South Sioux City; sister-in-law, Marlene Rosenbaum of Elk Point; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Ida (Strand) Rosenbaum; a sister, Donna Simon; a brother, Richard Rosenbaum; her husband, Howard Bergum; and a sister and brother, Marcella and Orville Rosenbaum, both in infancy.
