SOUTH SIOUX CITY -- Thelma B. Barg, 77, of South Sioux City passed away Saturday, April 12, 2008, at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Glad Tidings Lighthouse, with the Rev. Michael Ring officiating. Burial will be in Green Valley Cemetery, rural Homer, Neb, Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home.

Thelma was born Nov. 11, 1930, in Homer, Neb., the daughter of Robert C. and Bertha E. (Dyer) Pedersen. She graduated from Homer High School in 1949. She married Fred "Fritz" H. Barg on Aug. 9, 1957, in Elk Point, S.D.

She was a member of Glad Tidings Lighthouse.

Survivors include a son, Fred R. Barg and his special friend, Mindy Messerschmidt of Hubbard, Neb.; two daughters, Doris and her husband, Bruce Gross of Manilla, Iowa, and Debbie Batten of Carson, Iowa; three sisters, Doris and Bob Hitt of Helena, Mont., Mary Van Cleave of Snyder, Neb., and Sharon and Don Tremayne of Walthill, Neb.; 11 grandchildren, Jennifer Carroll and special friend, Tony Wyatt, Michael Carroll and special friend, Lynn Deal, Scott and Brian Carroll, Kelsey Gross, Jackie and Jesse Batten, Sarah Barg, Nicky and Keith Jump and Joe Messerschmidt, three great-grandchildren, Kaelyn Carroll, Dustin and Tyley Jump; and beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Fritz on April 10, 1969, in Sioux City; and her infant twin sister, Velma Pedersen.

Pallbearers will be Joe Conley, Mickey Ring, Don and Randy Tremayne, Jason Steele and Keith Jump.
