SIOUX CITY -- Sister Valeria Wolf, BVM, of Dubuque, Iowa, formerly of Sioux City, died Dec. 15, 2008, at Marian Hall in Dubuque.

Services were held Dec. 19 at Marian Hall Chapel.

Sister Valeria was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Sioux City, to Edward and Laura (Wefel) Wolf. She graduated from St. Boniface School and Cathedral High School before entering the BVM congregation on Sept. 8, 1940. She professed first vows on March 19, 1943, and final vows on Aug. 15, 1948.

She was an educator in Arizona for 41 years at All Saints in Tucson and Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Tempe. She also taught at Annunciation and St. Vincent in Chicago and St. Mary in Riverside, Iowa.

She is survived by a niece; nephews; a cousin, Constance Rasmussen of Sioux City; and the Sisters of Charity, BVM, with whom she shared her life for 68 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Kathleen Nagy.

Memorials may be given to the Sisters of Charity, BVM Retirement Fund, 1100 Carmel Drive, Dubuque, IA. 52003.
