SERGEANT BLUFF -- Our beloved son, father, brother and friend, Paul D. Parks, 45, of Sergeant Bluff, lost his long, brave battle with kidney and liver failure on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008.

Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salix, Iowa. There will be a rosary at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Paul was born in Sioux City on Jan.14, 1963, and was a lifelong resident. He graduated from Sergeant Bluff-Luton Schools in 1981. He attended Western Iowa Tech after graduation. Paul worked in various farming industry positions with local farmers, as a driver for PBX, Bud's Dairy, and lastly, for the Sergeant Bluff School System as a maintenance engineer for almost a decade.

Paul enjoyed fishing, boating, camping and hunting with his good friends. He is best known for being the world's biggest Packers fan EVER.

Paul leaves behind the joy of his life his daughter, Amanda; his parents, Pat and Patty Parks, and his fiancee, Glenda Wulfu, all of Sergeant Bluff; two sisters, Pam (Daniel) McBride of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Peggy Wessling (Dave) of Whiting, Iowa; a brother, Phillip (Pam) Parks of Akron, Iowa; his former wife, Robin Putereaugh; a multitude of nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and friends; and his faithful dog, Angel.

He was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents; and his niece, Madeline Parks.

Our family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of St. Luke's Hospital's ICU, 5th floor medical, and St. Luke's Home Health Care for their wonderful care and support during his last days. A special thanks to Dr. Tan, Oei and Chow.

God doesn't promise us tomorrow, just today. Love the people you care about and live life to the fullest.
