MOVILLE, Iowa -- Mildred E. Weidner, 82, of Omaha, formerly of Moville, passed away Thursday, Dec. 4, 2008, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha, after a brief illness.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville, with Pastor James Berka officiating. Burial will be in Fairfield Cemetery at Rock Branch, Iowa. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., at McCulloch Chapel, Christy-Smith Funeral Home in Moville. Online condolences may be sent to www.christysmith.com.

Mildred was born June 20, 1926, in Colome, S.D., to Fred and Anna (Emme) Rock. She grew up and attended school and moved with the family in 1935 to Moville. She resided in Moville until 1978, when she moved with her husband to Lennox, S.D., then back to Moville in 1995 and finally to Omaha in 2007 until the present. She was employed as a bookkeeper with Miller Motors in Moville until she moved to Lennox, S.D., when she was the bookkeeper for the hardware store that she operated with her husband.

She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville. Some of Mildred's pastimes included sewing, baking, playing cards, doing puzzles, watching T.V. game shows and conversing with family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Rick and Carol Weidner of Omaha, and Carman Branson of Norfolk, Mass.; four grandchildren, Alexis and Stefan Graham, Nic Weidner, Alan Branson and Nicolette Branson; three sisters, Hertha Hinkhouse of Correctionville, Iowa, Martha VanNorman of Minneapolis, Minn., and Norma Dallen of Seattle, Wash.; and two sisters-in-law, Hope Stein of Celina, Ohio, and Jan Rock of Phoenix, Ariz.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; two sisters, Ella Meissner and Clara Rippke; two brothers, Albert Rock and Bill Rock; four brothers-in-law; and two nephews.

Memorials can be directed in her name to the family.
